Modern Brewery is a small microbrewery in St. Louis located along Manchester Avenue just a short distance behind the St. Louis Science Center. Normally, Modern has a small tasting room that looks a bit like an airplane hangar with a modern industrial vibe. However, right now Modern is only providing carry out orders of beer, so we decided to try the brewery as well as we could by sampling some of the beers they currently had available. We were able to try their LouDog, a pilsner which we found light and refreshing, as well as their Citrapolis, a nice IPA brewed with Citra hops. Modern specializes in brewing IPAs, and we have had some of their other offerings on other occasions, including an IPA with Galaxy hops that was quite tasty. While we weren’t able to spend as much time as we would have liked at their actual brewery and tasting room, we enjoyed getting to try Modern and found their beer to be a tasty addition to the St. Louis beer scene.

Side note: Modern’s brewery and tasting room are set back from the road behind a couple other buildings, so it can be a bit difficult to find.
