Located on a corner along Cherokee Street is a cute little cafe and coffee shop, The Mud House. The cafe is situated in a three-story brick building with a nice sized patio in the back. Additionally, there is a vacant lot next door, that The Mud House encourages using for picnics. Inside the cafe is divided into two rooms. The decor is soothing, mellow colors with fun, whimsical signs throughout and a brick accent wall in the center of both rooms. Typically there are tables in the front and then in the back is a display cabinet with goodies, while the second room consists of an assortment of tables.

The menu is centered around breakfast and cafe-style food with egg dishes, sandwiches, and salads. Additionally, they have as assortment of tasty coffee and tea drinks. When we visited we split the club sandwich and an iced latte, which were both delicious! The sandwich was savory, filling, and well-made, the latte was refreshing and full of great flavor. When we visited it was a warm day out so we sat outside on the patio under a tree and enjoyed our meal in a lovely setting. Afterwards, we finished our drink as we strolled along Cherokee street and read the historic placards about the people and places that once were.
