One of our favorite Missouri wineries so far has been Blumenhof Winery in Dutzow, MO. The winery is abut halfway along the Missouri Weinstraße and is situated just off of highway 94 making it easily accessible. Blumenhof translates to flower courtyard and the scenery is fitting for the name. The winery is located in a wooden, Alpine-style building with an array of seating. The winery and the grounds are surrounded with rolling hills filled with trees, allowing visitors to be surrounded by nature. The architecture and the scenery remined us both of a heurige, which we found to be a lovely!

We visited when family was in town during a Missouri Weinstraße day trip. Blumenhof was our first winery of the day and it did not disappoint! Since we arrived right around when it opened on a Friday we were the only people there, making it especially relaxing. We did a tasting and found their wines to each be drinkable, flavorful, light, and perfect for a hot summer day. We enjoyed the tasting so much we decided to buy two of our favorite wines – the Valvin Muscat and Weekend of Blues, a white Missouri table wine. Neither of us are big white wine fans, except for typically a Riesling and a Gewürztraminer; however, we thoroughly enjoyed Blumenhof’s white wines (hence why we bought two bottles of white!). Since we arrived near opening time, it was a bit early for food, but Blumenhof does have an assortment of food items, such charcuterie, pizza, sandwiches, and various of appetizers. Both the atmosphere and the wine made us thoroughly enjoy our visit to Blumenhof, and we would love to return on our next Missouri Weinstraße trip!
