A fun new attraction and eatery in the St. Louis area is the 9 Mile Garden in Affton. The area opened last week and is nicely located between South County and South City. The name 9 Mile Garden is in reference to the area being the 9 mile marker from St. Louis. 9 Mile Garden is a food truck garden that has a rotating assortment of trucks, such as Seoul Taco and Essentials. The 9 Mile Garden is open each day, but Sunday, for lunch and dinner this is an assortment of different types of cuisine, making it a great place to grab a bite.

Although food trucks are the main attraction, 9 Mile Garden has an assortment of activities that are centered around a large green space. The food trucks are seated on one end of the garden and on the opposite side is The Canteen, a drink hall, that features an assortment of breweries, including St. Louis breweries, such as Perennial Artisan Ales or Rockwell Beer Co. In the center of the 9 Mile Garden is a large open field with umbrellas and tables spread out. The back of 9 Mile Garden has a wooden stage for live music and tiered natural-rock seating. In the front is a large screen for free movies on Saturday evenings. The area is nicely landscaped and provides a nice place to get outdoors, try an assortment of cuisine, and enjoy some entertainment.

We visited opening night; however, it was quite crowded and not everyone was wearing masks so we decided to try again on Saturday for lunch. Saturday there was less people and almost everyone was wearing a mask so we decided to try Zacchi, a food truck focused on Jordanian cuisine, and Blues Fired Pizza. We ordered the chicken shawarma from Zacchi and a small pepperoni pizza from Blues Fired Pizza, which were both quite good! Overall, we had a good time trying some new food and being outdoors, while socially distanced.
