A little eatery right outside of the eastern side of Glacier National Park is Park Cafe. Park Cafe & Grocery is located in the town of St. Mary, MT, which sits at the entry point of the national park, making it a nice place to stay with a couple of amenities such as the restaurant, a hotel, a gas station, and a little grocery store. When we visited Glacier we stayed within the park and camped, but found the town of St. Mary to be a nice way to grab last minute supplies or a bite to eat (especially after a big hike at Grinnell Glacier).

The cafe is located in a small single-standing one-story building with a cute front porch that wraps around. When we visited we sat outside on the porch, but inside there are old linoleum floors, bright red retro chairs and bar stools, and wood paneling throughout. Park Cafe & Grocery carries an assortment of gifts and grocery items, but what they are most known for is their pie. When we visited we ordered a massive slice of huckleberry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream – it was absolutely delicious! The pie was warm, flavorful, and paired with the ice cream made for the perfect afternoon treat after a long hike. The service there was also fantastic – she was friendly and helpful. Overall, we both thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Park Cafe & Grocery and their huckleberry pie.
