Although the Contemporary Art Museum has not announced their opening date yet, visitors can begin to start to think about the different places they can explore once things begin to reopen more. The museum is located in the Grand Center neighborhood and has an outdoor space that connects it to Pulitzer Arts Foundation. The Contemporary Art Museum is located on the corner in a large concrete structure. Inside there are three main rooms, with tall ceilings and a mixture of concrete and white walls. There is also a small room for exhibits, a cafe space, and a small exhibit area on the second floor.

On the first Friday of each month, the museum stays open longer and has live music, drinks, and visitors can socialize and engage with the artwork. We visited the Contemporary Art Museum’s First Friday during the Derek Fordjour exhibit and the majority of the artwork was centered Fordjour’s work, including his piece SHELTER. Exhibits rotate, providing visitors the opportunity to continue to return and experience new artwork. Besides the First Friday event, the Contemporary Art Museum provides an assortment of events throughout the year, such as talks with the artist. We spent about an hour at the museum and found it to be a nice, relaxing Friday evening activity.
