The University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Nebraska is perhaps best known for having one of the most storied programs in college football. The Cornhuskers, as they are known, have won five national championships and have had numerous players win individual awards. Nebraskans are quite fond of their football team; every football game at Memorial Stadium has been a sellout since 1962. While it is an incredible experience to attend a game at Memorial Stadium, witnessing some good football and a stadium full of red-clad fans, visitors are able to tour parts of the stadium at other times of the year.

There is a visitor center at the northern end of the stadium at which visitors can see some of the team and individual trophies the Huskers have won, including their national championship trophies and Heisman trophies, watch some videos about the team and its history and traditions, look at part of the weight room, and see some other displays about Nebraska football. There are several statues and architecturally-significant places around the stadium, if you would like to circumnavigate the stadium. Finally, there is one gate of the stadium that is normally open, allowing visitors to walk through a fenced-in area for a view of the stadium from one of the corners of the field. This allows visitors to get a glimpse of how large the stadium is and see the field where the Cornhuskers play. While not everyone might be a Nebraska football fan, visiting Memorial Stadium is a fun and interesting experience for any college football fan and an absolute must for Cornhusker fans.
