Devils Tower National Monument is located in the northeastern corner of Wyoming, just west of Badlands National Park and the Black Hills of South Dakota. The monument preserves a large monolith, which is surrounded by soft rolling hills, making Devils Tower a dramatic sight to anyone observing it stand tall above the landscape. Up close, the monument is interesting to behold, with rectangular formations going up and down the tower. For nice views of each side of Devils Tower, walk the 1.3 mile trail the circles the monument. As you hike, you might spot some climbers scaling the tower, a popular climbing spot. While visiting you can also learn about the historical significance of Devils Tower, which is a sacred place for the Native Americans who live in this region.

As with many other national park sites, Devils Tower National Monument preserves and protects a beautiful natural area that is well worth a visit. It makes an especially good spot to stretch your legs if you are on your way to Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, or Grand Teton National Park.
