The Battery Atlanta is a large multi-use facility in north Atlanta. Its centerpiece is SunTrust Park, which was finished in 2017 as the new home of the Atlanta Braves after their move from Turner Field. Unlike Turner Field, SunTrust Park is located north of the city in Cobb County. While Suntrust Park is a nice stadium at which to catch a baseball game, it is also part of a much larger area called The Battery. The area leading up to the baseball stadium has been made into a large courtyard area with grassy areas and places for fans to engage each other and the baseball games. Radiating out from this central area are a number of shops, restaurants, apartments, and other buildings that serve both as a way to enhance the experience for those attending baseball games and as an attraction in and of itself. There is quite a variety of culinary establishments at The Battery, including cultural cuisine, classic pub food, and some Atlanta favorites, such as Antico Pizza and a Terrapin Taproom. Likewise, there are a number of other shops, including boutiques, grocers, and other specialty stores. If you enjoy the experience enough, you can stay at one of the hotels at The Battery, or live in one the apartments on site. Overall, The Battery is a fun place to hang out, whether to catch a baseball game or to just visit with friends.
