On our way to Glacier National Park we visited the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in the Crow reservation in Crow Agency, Montana. The national park site is where the battle between the United States military and two tribes, the Lakota and Cheyenne, took place. The battle is commonly referred to as Custer’s Last Stand. The site preserves the battlefield and memorials of those who died.

When we visited we started at the visitor center and watched a short film on the battle. Afterwards we drove along the 4.5 mile road that winds along the rolling hills and prairie grasses. The road takes you along the timeline of the battle, and there are signs for visitors to read, as well as an audio guide. The site is fairly small and consists primarily of the visitor center and the drive, so we spent about an hour there and felt like we fully saw the park.
