Although the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra has had several homes, they now primarily perform in Powell Hall in the neighborhood Grand Center. The Grand Center is known as the art district, and is home to the Fox Theater, several jazz clubs, The Sheldon, and a few art galleries. Powell Hall is a multi-story brick and stone structure with ornate detailing architecture. Inside the entryway of the theater is absolutely stunning with tall ceilings, white walls, gold accents, extravagant chandeliers, and lavish red carpet and curtains. The grand decor continues into the theater and provides visitors with a nice plush seat anywhere.

The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, also known as SLSO, is a symphony orchestra that has been in existence since 1880. The SLSO is the second oldest symphony in the country besides the New York Philharmonic and is an absolutely phenomenal orchestra. SLSO orchestra is a full orchestra and they typically have a couple performances a week. Performances range from classical concerts to film accompaniments providing a variety of music genres for visitors to enjoy based on preferences, as well as cocktail hours as varying locations throughout the city. This season we had the pleasure of attending several concerts, and they were all exquisite! Visiting the SLSO is one of our absolute favorite events to attend in St. Louis.

Side Notes: Tickets vary in price, and there are several inexpensive options.
