Although it is now a bit of a chain, we recently visited Pies and Pints in Charleston, West Virginia. The restaurant originates out of West Virginia, and the Charleston location is their second restaurant. The Charleston Pies & Pints is located off of highway 64, making it a great stopping for those who are traveling, as well as those in the area. As the name suggests, the focal point is pizza (pies) and beer (pints). The Charleston location is in downtown Charleston along an assortment of nice three-story brick buildings, with nice architecture and cute storefronts. There is a small front patio with tables and chairs at Pies and Pints, and then several rooms inside for visitors to sit at.

When we visited we were with family and got an assortment of salads, pizza, and West Virginia beers. Pies & Pints does not make their own beers, but does have a wide variety of beers available, so we used it as an opportunity to try some West Virginia beers, which we definitely enjoyed. We had the spinach salad, greek salad, margherita, and the pine and swine. Each dish was tasty, well-made, and quite plentiful, providing us with a new leftovers for a second meal. Visitors can also create their own slices, make half-and-half pizza, or make their own pizza entirely. Besides pizza and salad, there is also some pub-style appetizers, sandwiches, and desserts. Overall, we all enjoyed our meals, the beer, and the atmosphere making it a great stopping point to get out of the car and grab a bite to eat, while also getting to explore downtown Charleston a little.
