In the heart of the Central West End in St. Louis, Missouri is teh Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. The Cathedral Basilica features exquisite architecture with ornate stonework, a large dome, grand towers, and impressive details throughout the exterior. Upon entering, visitors are greeted to an interior as impressive as the cathedrals of Europe. The Cathedral Basilica is known particularly for the elaborate mosaic work that depicts various biblical scenes, and early church history. Visitors could spend hours looking at the intricate mosaic work. Other notable features of the Cathedral Basilica are the crypt, a small museum, the large organ, and sculptures. The grounds surround the Cathedral Basilica are small, but also quite nice, providing visitors with a pleasant stroll in the city.  One of our favorite things about St. Louis is that it provides so many opportunities to explore without ever leaving the city, and the Cathedral Basilica provides visitors with the ability to see an exquisite cathedral, and for those who are interested, a lovely space for a religious service.
