Holiday Festivities – Day 3

This weekend is one of our favorite holiday festivities in St. Louis, Peace Lutheran Church’s Boar’s Head Festival. The festival takes place each year the first weekend in December and there are several times for visitors to partake. It is a free event that is a combination between a church service, a pageant, and a medieval experience. The evening starts with a few musical performances, such as a hand bell choir. Then the formal performance begins with visitors partaking in a medieval court with grandeur, treats, and performances for the king. Next, the nativity story unfolds in a lovely presentation. Finally, it concludes with the court convening at the nativity. Throughout the festival there is opportunities to engage with the performance through singing, eating, and more. After the show has concluded, there is time to interact with the performers, as well as grab a cup of hot cider and some homemade cookies.
