Holiday Festivities – Day 2
One of the best places to celebrate the holidays is a trip to Rockefeller Center. The Art Deco building serves as the perfect backdrop for an elaborate holiday celebration. At the base of the Rockefeller is an ice skating rink that is surrounded by small Christmas trees and lights all around. Branching off from the main plaza are several pathways with ornate light displays. The centerpiece is the large Christmas tree that sits above the rink. Each year there is a Christmas tree lighting celebration to help start the holiday season. Once the holiday lights have been turned on the Rockefeller Center is packed with holiday visitors, so be prepared for hundreds of people. The lighting ceremony is taking place tomorrow this year, so even if you can’t make it, there is a holiday special each year with music and the big event!
