One of our favorite St. Louis metro area attractions is the Wabash Frisco & Pacific Railway, or as we lovingly refer to it, the little train. The railway is located in Glencoe, MO, which is now a part of Wildwood, MO. The entrance to the railway is located in a nice park, providing a nice setting to eat lunch at before heading to the entrance. In recent years the train has grown in popularity so prepare for a long line. The railway is completely run by volunteers and has a suggested donation of $4 to maintain operational costs. The railway is a small train pulled by a steam engine for about 2 miles that runs along the Meramec River way through the woods providing a nice view of the scenery. The ride is around 30 minutes and has little seats in an open-air style car, which creates a more interactive train ride than larger contained trains. Margaret has visited the little train most of her life and we are excited to keep coming even as adults. The train is open every Sunday, May through October, so this Sunday will be the last time for visitors to enjoy the Wabash Frisco train for the year.
