Woodcock Brothers Brewing Company, as the name suggests, is the brainchild of two brothers who opened their own brewery. The brewery now has two locations, both of which are in the Buffalo, NY area. One is in Wilson, near Lake Ontario, while the other is in Wurlitzer, along the route between Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Since we enjoy stopping at breweries, both for the beer and the food, we decided to try Woodcock Brothers en route to Niagara Falls.

The brewery is located in a rather old industrial building. The brewery is quite noticeable since visitors can see the large tanks inside as they approach the brewery, which makes for a fun and inviting sight. Inside, warm, earthy tones and exposed brick give the brewery a cozy vibe. The dark wood and black-and-white photos on the wall add to the slightly industrial, but approachable environment. The brewpub is not without a little whimsy, though–hop-shaped lamps hang above the bar area.

As we usually do, we ordered a tasting flight with several of their beers, which rotate frequently according to the brewing schedule and the seasons. We enjoyed getting to try the variety of beers and found each one to be tasty, although we liked the lager the best. We also ordered food. Woodcock Brothers offers a large menu with standard brewpub items, including salads, burgers, pizza, and others sandwiches. They also have a few atypical items, such as “vegan zoodles.” We decided to split a salad and pizza, so we ordered an apple walnut salad and a pepperoni pizza. The apple walnut salad was delicious with plenty of crunch, sweetness, and zing. The pepperoni pizza was a thicker pizza, and we found it enjoyable as well.

Woodcock Brothers Brewing was a fun way to spend a relaxing evening. We liked both the beer and the food and thought the brewpub was a great place to stop at if you’re in the area.
