A popular St. Louis restaurant chain that continues to grow throughout the St. Louis area and has now expanded to Kansas City is Mission Taco Joint. The original location was in The Loop, but has now expanded to Soulard, St. Charles, a couple locations in Kansas City, and the location we visited, the Central West End. The Central West End location is located on a corner in a two-story brick and stone building with large expansive windows allowing light to pour in. During the warmer months there are tables outside for visitors to enjoy the outdoors. On the inside of the restaurant the decor is a gray base palette with bright blues and and reds. The entire back portion of the restaurant is a bar covered in varied colored wood, serving as the heart of the restaurant.

Mission Taco Joint is known for tacos, but also burritos, tortas, a variety of appetizers, and some fun sides. When we visited we ordered an assortment of tacos and street corn off the cob. We ordered the bbq duck, beef brisket, carne asada, and grilled chicken tacos, which were each tasty, but our favorite was the carne asada taco and the street corn off the cob, which was delicious! Overall, we found the food good, and the atmosphere fun, providing for a nice afternoon.
