As the heat continues in St. Louis for at least a few more days, a nice relief is Ices Plain & Fancy. The little ice cream shop is located in the Shaw neighborhood in a cute brick building with bright bold colors donning the entryway. There are a few tables outside for patrons to enjoy with umbrellas for shade. Inside the decor consists of white tiles, bright blue wall paint, and older documents framed in bright pink frames. There are a few small tables with thonet chairs for visitors to stay inside and cool.

Ices Plain & Fancy is known for utilizing liquid nitrogen for their ice cream creations. Besides ice cream, they have non-dairy ice cream, cocktails, coffee, and alcoholic ice cream, along with doggie treats. During our visit we had the vegan coconut milk german chocolate and the sump pump. The portions are quite large, and we both found our frozen treats delicious! We both enjoyed our visit to Ices Plain & Fancy, and definitely recommend a visit!
