Fall Festivals & Events – Day 5
Art in the Park is one of our favorite festivals, and it conveniently takes place in our neighborhood, St. Louis Hills. Each year on the last Sunday of September, Francis Park hosts an art festival with booths set up around the park’s decorative pool at its center. Artists from around the city and region take part in the festival, and visitors can find any number of items for sale. Especially for those who enjoy St. Louis and like having artistic pieces for the home, Art in the Park features a number of artists who offer St. Louis-centric pieces. For example, at last year’s festival we purchased magnets with a sketch of the city skyline on it. We liked them so much that we bought one for ourselves, but also for each of our families. Aside from many St. Louis-style pieces, there is plenty of other art. Visitors can stroll around the booths at their leisure. Even if you don’t purchase anything, there is plenty of interesting art to look at. If all the walking and shopping makes you hungry, there are several booths set up by local restaurants, serving a variety of their normal food to go. Between the good food, interesting artwork, and the lovely community, Art in the Park is a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
