Fall Festivals & Events – Day 4
Each year Soulard Park hosts the Greater St. Louis Hispanic Festival, which celebrates the many different cultures of Central and South America. One area of the festival is devoted to dancing and performances, where different groups perform traditional dances, sometimes encouraging audience participation. In another area of the festival there are dozens of booths, some with food, others featuring clothing, art, and gift items. Each booth is labelled according to the vendor’s country, allowing visitors to gain a sense for the differences in the countries and their cultures. We perused the vendor booths and decided to try a few foods from various countries. We enjoyed trying different cultural cuisine and highly recommend going with a bit of an empty stomach. Overall, the Hispanic Festival is a fun way to spend the afternoon.
