Just past the Delmar Loop in University City is Winslow’s Home. The restaurant is located in a stately two-story brick building with expansive windows along the first floor. Outside there is a nice patio area, with a plethora of tables for visitors to sit at. Inside there are decorative tin tray ceilings with beams running across and wooden floors. There are marble tables with cafe-style chairs dotted throughout the room. The walls are covered in various ornate book shelves that are filled with a variety of knick knacks for purchase that also serve as decor, making it a catchall home goods store, as well as a restaurant.
On the right side is an expansive display case with an assortment of pastries and bakery items for visitors to pick from before they order from the menu. The menu reflects the farm to table focus as the menu rotates based on the season. Ingredients are from Winslow’s Farm in Augusta, MO, ensuring each plate is freshly prepared. The menu consists of breakfast items (such as pancakes or biscuits and gravy), soups and salads, and a variety of sandwiches and tartines, as well as an eclectic dinner array that features items such as cod, a cheese board, or eggplant. Each dish focuses on combining fresh ingredients and pairing them with an array of flavors. When we visited it was for a birthday party with around 20 other people. Everyone got an assortment of food and dessert options, while we ordered the parfait, seasoned potatoes, and brisket, as well as a cookie. The seasoned potatoes were particularly yummy. Besides food, Winslow’s Home has a variety of drink options for visitors to enjoy. Overall, the atmosphere and food provided for a decent new dining experience in St. Louis.

Side Note: There is a cellar for private events.
