Pietro’s Restaurant has been open in South City St. Louis since 1960 and offers a friendly Italian neighborhood restaurant. Pietro’s is located along Watson Road in a white-washed building with a lovely little entrance that feels welcoming. Inside, the restaurant is simple, with white walls and simple tables with tablecloths in large, open rooms. The waiting area and bar are more ornate, with rich, dark woods. The environment is one of a neighborhood restaurant, reinforced by the friendly staff and the regulars who greet one another.
Pietro’s has an expansive menu that focuses on Italian cuisine. Menu items include such favorites as Chicken Parmigiana, Lasagna, Fettuccine, and Cannelloni, but there are many options to choose from. We tried the Baked Lasagna and the Roast Beef sandwich with au jus, both of which were tasty, hearty, and comforting. On other occasions, we have had other dishes, and we have always found the food at Pietro’s to be flavorful and filling. Pietro’s also has a large facility for banquets, and they also cater events throughout the city.
Pietro’s is a fun South City St. Louis classic with good food and a friendly atmosphere. We recommend trying it.
