Bailey’s Chocolate Bar is located in the Lafayette Square neighborhood, and is part of the Bailey’s Restaurant Group. The Chocolate Bar is located in a classic red brick building on the second floor above another Bailey’s restaurant, currently POP, and previously the home of the Chocolate Bar itself. Entering through some rounded red doors, visitors head up the stairs to the Chocolate Bar. The room is covered in metallic painted walls, heavy red velvet curtains, and ornate light fixtures, while the tables are small marble tables with cafe chairs, to create an intimate cafe setting. There is a a bar that is the focal point with decorative tiles on the front, and a vast array of drink options. When we visited we sat in the corner tucked next to the windows providing a view of the restaurant, as well as outside.

The Chocolate Bar focuses on chocolate themed drinks and desserts, as the name suggests, as well as other fun treats. The drink menu consists of an assortment of martinis, cocktails, sparkling wine, bottles of bubbly, still wine, and seasonal drinks. Although they are known for their chocolate cocktails, we ordered a cappuccino to accompany dessert, which was delightful. The food menu contains flatbreads, and a large assortment of cheeses to create a fun cheeseboard. There is also various types of desserts that consist of chocolate, fruit, and ice cream.
When we visited we ordered a flatbread and a cheeseboard. We had the smoked chicken flatbread which was unusual, but tasty. With the cheeses we ordered a couple of favorites, as well as some we weren’t as familiar with to experiment. We found the presentation and the cheeses themselves to quite nice and well presented. Afterwards, we enjoyed the chocolate inebriation cake with a cappuccino for a perfect afternoon date. Bailey’s Chocolate Bar continues to be one of our favorite spots in St. Louis.
