Located just north of St. Louis is the Fin Inn in Grafton, IL. Margaret grew up going to Peru Marquette Lodge and State Park with her family, and they often visited the Fin Inn during their trips. The Fin Inn is only a short drive from the lodge and state park, making it ideal for a fun meal out. The restaurant is set back from the road, in a unique stone structure with large windows. Inside the decor is simple because the focal point is the aquarium tanks filled with fish and turtles.
When we visited we settled in next to a tank and watched the fish swim around. The Fin Inn is known for seafood; however, they also offer standard burgers and home-cooked style meals. When we visited we ordered a burger and the flame-broiled catfish sandwich, both with fries. Both were nice, classic made dishes. We both liked our food, and definitely enjoyed watching the fish swim around, making for a fun lunch on an outing along the river.
