STL Restaurant Week – Day 1
An classic South City St. Louis restaurant is Mom’s Deli. The sandwich shop is located on Jamieson, near Lindenwood Park and the Chippewa Ted Drewes location. The outside is a simple two story beige building with a plain red awning bearing “Mom’s Deli.” There are a couple of picnic benches in front of the deli and a couple on the porch under the awning. Mom’s Deli has been in the neighborhood since 1977, and since has become a staple in the area. The inside is rather small and consists of several rows for groceries and a large deli counter with little to no decor.
As the name suggests, Mom’s Deli is a sandwich shop, but it is also a place to grab groceries, large group orders, and specialty St. Louis treats, such as Billy Goat Chips. Mom’s Deli offers a wide variety of sandwich options, providing visitors with an array of options. Additionally, there are an assortment of sides for visitors to pick from. There is limited seating, making Mom’s Deli ideal for grabbing a quick lunch or if you want to head to Lindenwood Park for a picnic.
