Brewery Week – Day 2

2nd Shift Brewing began as a brewery in New Haven, Missouri, but moved to St. Louis in 2016 when they opened a large brewing facility and tasting room on the edge of The Hill. The brewery is located along a thin strip full of industrial buildings and warehouses, so 2nd Shift repurposed one of these old buildings to serve as its brewery. The brewery is a large open space, with the brewing equipment and tasting room filling the same space; however, the tasting room is divided from the brewery by rows of barrels filled with aging beer. The tasting room is sparsely decorated, with only tables and chairs in the space with the bar at the end of the room. 2nd Shift offers a number of beers on tap with a focus on IPAs and saisons, although they also have pilsners, stouts, and specialty and barrel-aged beers. Liquid Spiritual Delight, a stout, is a good option, especially if you’re able to have the version brewed with coffee. As you sip your beer in the tasting room, be on the lookout for critters–2nd Shift has a few animals in the brewery. If you’re lucky, they might come up and say hi.

2nd Shift offers a wide selection of beer, and if you are a fan of beer, we recommend visiting their tasting room.
