Our absolute favorite St. Louis park is Francis Park in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood. The park is a medium sized park with well-maintained side walks, a playground, athletic fields and courts, a lily pond, hills, and a plethora of trees. We live in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood, and one of the main reasons we chose to live here was because we love Francis Park so much.
One of the best parts about Francis park is the plethora of festivals and events the park offers throughout the year. In the spring the park has an Easter Egg hunt; in the summer Compton Heights concerts – Sunday evening concerts and Grub and Groove – a music and food festival; in the fall there is Art in the Park-an art fair, a 5k, a house tour, and Brew in the Lou-a beer festival; and in the winter a Christmas Tree lighting, as well as lights throughout the St. Louis Hills neighborhood. Besides planned events, Francis park provides the opportunity to be in nature, some of the best sledding in the city, a great place to workout, and an ideal picnic location.
We often frequent and enjoy the setting and nature that Francis Park provides.
