Coffee Week – Day 1

Since it is cold out, we decided to feature different places in St. Louis to grab a cup of coffee. The first place we will be highlighting is Comet Coffee. Comet Coffee is located along the southern half of Forest Park, making it a great central location. The outside of Comet Coffee is a bit austere as it is located at the bottom of a large glass building and is denoted through a simple sign. Inside, the room is also decorated rather simply with bright purple walls contrasting pale blue-gray walls, a few basic industrial light decorations, and a couple photos along the wall. There is a large wooden bench running along the main wall that has basic tables set-up for pair seating. Additionally, there are a few wooden tables with basic chairs. Overall, the decor is rather simple with the central point being the coffee bar and pastry display.

Recently, Comet Coffee opened a second location in Kirkwood that focuses on croissants and ice cream; however, we have only visited the city location with focuses on coffee since we reside in South City. Comet Coffee has a variety of different coffee blends and drinks providing a variety of options. All of us noticed the coffee is quite strong, so if you like strong coffee Comet Coffee might be the perfect option. The majority of visitors were also all utilizing the space as a work place and less of Viennese coffeehouse style where visitors were gathering to quietly chat with one another. We recently visited Comet Coffee with some family and enjoyed trying a new coffee spot.
