Hungry Ghost is a local chain of coffeehouses in New York that has now grown to include six locations in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan on NYU’s campus. Hungry Ghost specializes in the art of coffee and espresso, attempting to make the most artfully-crafted drinks that they can. Hungry Ghost uses Stumptown Coffee Roasters, a chain of coffee roasters with a local roastery in New York, in order to craft their concoctions.

We visited the DeKalb location of Hungry Ghost, which features a small cafe with a simplistic but elegant and aesthetically-pleasing design. There is beautiful tiling on the floor, a light wood bar and backdrop, and a pop of color in the form of vines and greenery behind the bar. It’s a lovely setting for a drink, and we enjoyed an iced latte that was quite delicious. Hungry Ghost offers both nice cafes and good coffee, so if you want more than a basic cup of coffee, we definitely recommend giving Hungry Ghost a try.
