Portland Brewery Week-Day 2

Today, we feature Lucky Labrador Brewing Company, which now has four brewpubs scattered around the Portland area. We visited their flagship location, the Hawthorne Brew Pub, which is near several other Portland breweries, including Cascade Brewing Barrel House, Hair of the Dog Brewing Company, and Rogue’s Eastside Pub and Pilot Brewery. The brewery is simply decorated with burgundy walls and lots of wood on the floors, ceilings, tables, and bar. Scattered all around the brewery, however, are pictures of dogs and other dog paraphernalia. The brewery has a small food menu featuring mostly sandwiches and salads from more artisan styles featuring zucchini to staples like grilled cheese. The brewery has many of its beers on tap and offers tasting flights. Most of these beers are brewed to style, although there are also some more exploratory offerings. Lucky Labrador also has one of its beers on cask, which we tried and found to be quite tasty. Overall, Lucky Labrador had the feel of a local hangout that featured some good food and shippable suds.
