Aside from being just down the street from the Brooklyn Bridge, Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights is also home to a variety of restaurants and upscale bars. Brooklyn Heights Wine Bar & Kitchen is located at the corner of Henry and Cranberry Streets and offers an intimate setting for both drinking and dining. The wine bar is in a beautiful brick building with a lovely red cornice above the door and large windows overlooking the street. Inside, the wood-paneled walls, wood tables, and large wooden bar make for a cozy setting. The wine bar is small, but this adds to the intimacy of the experience and allows for conversations, rather than making for a noisy bar.

As its name indicates, the star of the wine bar is the wine, with the restaurant offering a several page menu that includes wine by the glass and by the bottle. The bar offers a variety of different wines to appeal to all types of wine drinkers, so it was easy to find something we liked. The wine bar also offers other types of drinks, including a few rare spirits and a number of cocktails, both traditional and house-creations.

The wine bar also features a variety of food items, all of which have quality ingredients. There are snacks to pair with your drink, if you just want something little to munch on, some bigger items such as charcuterie boards and other small plates, and several entrees if you want a full meal. We enjoyed a charcuterie board with two different cheeses and two meats, which we found delicious. The board featured a drizzle of honey in the shape of a heart, a cute touch to an already lovely experience.

Our time at Brooklyn Heights Wine Bar was wonderful, from the setting to the drinks to the food. We found the bar to offer a perfect blend of being both cozy and upscale, without being pretentious. We had such a nice time, that we would love to go back.
