Callicoon, New York is a small town located about two and a half hours northwest of New York City. Its setting along the Delaware River and amongst the foothills of the Catskill Mountains makes it a beautifully scenic place, while its history related to the railroad is both visible in the town’s layout and gives it a lovely character. There are several small shops and restaurants in the town, one of which is the Callicoon Brewing Company. The bright red doors give away that the brewpub is located in the old firehouse. The interior is open, so patrons can see the brewery tanks as they enjoy their drinks and food. The brewpub also has plenty of local paraphernalia on the walls and rich wooden benches and tables that really adds to the pub environment. Callicoon has some of their own beers on tap, which are nice, but they also feature other local beers, so patrons can try a number of different beers and styles. The brewery also has a food menu, with plenty of pub-style food to go with your beer.

Callicoon Brewing Company was a lovely way to spend an afternoon in Callicoon, and we recommend checking it out if you ever find yourself in the area.
