One of chef Daniel Boulud’s eight restaurants in New York City is Bar Boulud. The restaurant is located across from the Lincoln Center making it the perfect place to grab a drink and bite to eat before attending a performance. Bar Boulud is a long narrow room with a rounded ceiling and a tile accent wall, making it feel similar to a subway tunnel. The decor is simple, but sleek and elegant.
Bar Boulud is known for being a relaxed Parisian restaurant that has a wide range of French wines and charcuterie. When we visited we embraced the theme and got a cheese and charcuterie board, with some wine. Visitors are able to choose from a variety of cheeses for the board, which provided a nice assortment, and the charcuterie board was primarily variations of pâté. Overall, we all enjoyed the atmosphere and the light meal before heading to the opera to enjoy a night of phenomenal singing and exquisite production.
