Recently we attended an event at Hill Country BBQ in Brooklyn; however, since then the location has been closed for temporary renovations (per the website). Although the Brooklyn location is currently closed there is a second restaurant near Madison Square Park. When we visited the event was in a separate upstairs lofted location, making for a nice venue space. The interior was decorated with a wood theme and predominately dark colors, with a dark red brick accent wall along the back. Afterwards, with a few friends we decided to stay past the event and try some of their food. Our party ordered an array of items and then shared them to try a variety of Hill Country’s menu. The food is standard barbecue food, with barbecued meat, mac & cheese, cole slaw, etc. Although we are not the biggest meat eaters, the majority of our was party was hoping to try “American cuisine” and found Texas style barbecue to be quite good. Our personal favorite was the mac and cheese – it was delicious! Overall, we enjoyed our meal there and hopefully they will reopen the downtown Brooklyn location.

Side Note: There is also a third location in Washington D.C.
