City Vineyard, operated by City Winery, is a lovely bar that pours its own wine. Located on Pier 26 in TriBeCa, the bar is a rectangular structure that is mostly glass, affording terrific views of the Hudson River and the New Jersey skyline (it’s not Manhattan, but the New Jersey skyline is quite nice to look at too). The interior is elegant, with nicely set tables, but the star is, as it should be, the view. Even though it was late November, we opted to sit outside on their patio area, which includes an outdoor bar. Most of the patio was surrounded by heavy canvas, with heat lamps giving enough warmth that we could comfortably sit on the couches without our jackets. It should be noted that City Vineyard has a large rooftop terrace with the same lovely views–it was closed during the winter, but it is open when the weather is warmer.

City Vineyard has several wines on tap, most of which are their own, as well as an extensive bottle list. With so many options, there is a wine for everyone, and prices are reasonable, although they also carry more expensive wines. You can just sip wine if you like, but City Vineyard also has a small menu utilizing specialty and artisan ingredients that includes appetizers, flatbreads, and a few larger items. We decided to share a couple appetizers and flatbreads and found the food a very nice addition to our experience.
The views alone were worth paying City Vineyard a visit–it was fun and relaxing to sip wine on the patio looking across the Hudson–but the wine was well-made and the food delicious, making our time at City Vineyard a nice one.
