The Custom House is located on Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights and offers visitors a pub-style experience both in its atmosphere and menu. The restaurant’s interior is plainly decorated, but still beautiful with the buildings old brick exposed along several walls, including the entrance, where a fireplace stands, adding warmth to the pub. Standard pub-style tables and chairs fill the restaurant, and patrons can watch sports on several TVs located throughout the restaurant. However, we chose to sit outside, as the nice weather made for a pleasant time as we watched Montague Street’s traffic ebb as it got later. The Custom House has standard pub fare on its menu with plenty of comfort food–they feature appetizers such as wings, mozzarella sticks, and mac and cheese; burgers; sandwiches; sliders; wraps; and entrees, such as fish and chips and shepherd’s pie. As a pub it has plenty of beer and other alcohol options as well. We ordered their classic burger and a buffalo chicken wrap and found our large meals to be satisfying.

We decided to go to The Custom House since it’s a neighborhood restaurant, and we’re glad we tried it. We suggest giving it a try if you work in the area and are looking for something new to try.
