Amity Hall is a restaurant in NYC that has two locations, one in uptown and the other in Greenwich Village. We visited the Greenwich Village location since it is only a couple blocks from Washington Square Park in the midst of NYU. Amity Hall is a nice local spot for artisan pub food and craft brews.
The outside is floor to ceiling windows, allowing visitors to see into the restaurant before entering. When it is warmer outside the bottom set of windows are, in fact, doors and open up providing a nice breeze into the restaurant. Visitors walk onto a landing and can either go up the stairs to a lofted area with windows overlooking the street or walk down the stairs to a cozy, pub setting. The restaurant is dimly lit and has brick walls, with dark wooden features to create an intimate feel. On the left side there is a bar that runs along the wall with high top stools, and on the right is a long booth for seating with a wood backing and chairs on the opposite end. Along the back wall is additional seating, and the front has large barrel-style tables with chairs as well.
The bar boasts a substantial craft beer menu that has a decent variety and drink specials throughout the week. When we visited we got a couple beers and a flatbread. The flatbread was fantastic, and we wished we had ordered a second! The menu provides a variety of higher quality pub food options for visitors to pick from. We both really enjoyed our visit to Amity Hall and definitely recommend it for those in the Greenwich Village area to grab a beer and snack while hanging out with friends.
