Glacier National Park is located at the top of the United States and is somewhat secluded, but there are a few small towns located nearby. The closest of these, Columbia Falls, is home to Backslope Brewing. Backslope is located in a modest industrial building with a similar vibe inside, although the warmly-painted walls and vibrancy of the interior make for a welcoming atmosphere. The taproom doubles as a small restaurant, featuring burgers, sandwiches, salads, small plates, and bowls. We ordered burgers and were quite satisfied and happy with our choices. Both were well-made with fresh, quality ingredients.

As usual at a brewery, we ordered a flight in order to sample several of the beers that Backslope offered. We very much enjoyed the beer and were glad that we had stopped by. Overall, we were quite happy with our visit and were glad that we had decided to venture out of the park to go.

Tip: While we love our national parks, they can get crowded during the middle of the day. This is when we decided to go to Backslope–we were able to get off the crowded roads, ease congestion, and eat lunch at the same time.
