We visited Victoria Bryant State Park at the end of a weekend of going to several state parks. Victoria Bryant, however, stood out as a lovely place to get out in nature for peace and solitude. There is a beautiful stream running through the park, and visitors can walk to it and along it. At one place along the stream, recent storms had caused the road to flood, making it impassable. However, we enjoyed getting out of the car and walking around the area, mesmerized by a Great Blue Heron standing in the stream. Further upstream, there was a rock slide and waterfall that was not only scenic, but perfect for playing in the water.

Because some of the roads were flooded, we weren’t able to get around the park as much as we would have been under normal conditions; however, we had a pleasant and relaxing time exploring the park. We found it to offer something for everyone-hiking, biking, fishing, golfing, camping-but still found its lush natural areas comforting and peaceful.
